Re: A few bits which may be of interest ;)
The fruits of your labour, both searching and elbow grease cleaning up what you found! Totally understand your change, I'd do the same if I didn't have to think of NCAP ratings, ISOfix anchor points and roof racks! At least I'll be able to say I've driven a 911 turbo... You sure they don't do it in red Shanty? When I'm back in the UK and she's out of the garage I'll definitely be making the trip up to Croydon to get mine replaced... Road trip shanty?Badman gee wrote: Yep, their available in red.

Re: Shantybeater's S54 - BMWCar Mag+Xenon Retrofit finished!
Hey Bro, Looks stunning, best xenon retrofit I've seen as looks most genuine. Only problem I'd have is the difference in colour between side lights and dipped beam... but have seen people use leds that match well!! Guess I'll keep my s50 as OEM as can and you can go the modifying route! Can't wait t...

Turned out to be the starter motor solenoid. Switched out the whole unit to be on the safe side. Hard to find a re manufactured bosch unit now-a-days... Hmmmm personally doubt its a valve - it wouldnt idle as 'smooth' and the noise would be totally different. You would know if it was a valve Its deffo not piston slap either - slap makes the car sound diesel like and more of a deep metallic grumble. The vanos growl is very prominent thats for sure. ...

Sounds top end so could be a valve, I would not run the engine and get it checked asap, could be expensive :| Agreed about the top end... good call on the valve, hadn't thought of that. I'm no mechanic, but I instantly thought of piston slap. Does sound very odd. I assume this would be caused by we...

Hi All, I'd like to think I take good care of my ///M. However she's currently throwing a tantrum (intermittently) with the most awful noise. Went into ECP and they are Ate discs under the Pagid part number. This is apparently because the Ate's have superseded the Pagid's. The Textar's are therefore going to be different. Hi All, I went to ECP and have picked up the wrong non-floating discs... typical... I should've got part numbers: 104110668 104110658 But I picked up: 104110408 104110418 Which are both vented but not floating... I'll have another go at the first set of part numbers and fingers crossed I'll get some...

barely pulled a car length IIRC I had a passenger, a boot full of tools and a full tank of petrol. I think this warrants a re-match (especially when I have the Simota on it) Only joking... S50 M roadster progress thread (Recent - Oil Change DIY)
The story: Well I recently bought Shanty's M roadster. The sub has a brilliant finish, sits right in... bit visible from the window tho... Cool that you managed to get the amp in the boot, not sure if I've got enough space behind my seat for it... could do the passenger's tho I guess. When you next heading down this way, would be good to hear the setup....
