Regular alcohol will damage the lens further, or leave a deposit, which could make matters worse.
Just do a search on eBay for BMW business cd & you will see a huge variety of them, you are bound to find the correct model for your car. I think it’s CD43??

I would recommend that you first try a commercially available CD lens cleaning disk, but if that doesn’t work, get some isopropyl alcohol & very gently clean the lens with a cotton bud dipped in that. Are the cds you’re using copies or originals? Some copies aren’t always read properly by these ...

Scratch that, just had a look on the website and the ones which sit on the seats look awful! don't want to fit roll hoops if I can help it. Not sure I understand? The roll hoops were standard equipment starting on the 1998 models, so your car should have them. I got my car MOT'd yesterday at local BMW main dealer. Passed with no advisories, so I'm very pleased. Mechanic said the car is in exceptionally good condition for it's age, including underneath, which is great news, because I'm not planning to part with it! :)

Hi there, Have you checked all the loom connections behind the cd unit? Also, does the cd changer load up when you insert the cartridge? You should have a green light on the front of the unit, where the eject button is. If you do have power etc to the changer, try slipping a credit card of some sort...
