Re: Cars can be Coronavirus casualties too

Whilst we're on about batteries and jump starting, has anyone any experience (good or bad) of the new Li-ion jump start packs?. I was having Z4 battery problems a few years ago and bought a jump starter - about £60 I think. It's like magic, works brilliantly even when the battery is completely flat...

Re: Silverstone Classic 2014

Only a few days to go now! I've had an email about picking up tickets (won't forget to bring them with me this way!), but don't know where & when to meet up on the Saturday. I'll be camping just opposite the track, so won't be joining in any cruise. Does anyone know which gate we should be going...

Re: Silverstone Classic 2014

Booked for the weekend, will be camping at Litchlake farm - proved to be very convenient last year although a little damp on the Saturday evening!

Re: BMWCCGB Zedfest, 26 – 28 July 2013, Silverstone Circuit

Have just booked for 3 days, looking forward to it. Not sure about accommodation. Hotel deal seems pretty reasonable, but I'm keen on watching the music on Fri + Sat evening _and_ having a drink _and_ not losing my licence, so camping seems like a slightly better option. Which campsites are others u...

Re: New owner

Very encouraging. Hope that you gave it a decent test drive to make sure it was all settled in and you felt nice and satisfied knowing that you won't have any exhaust problems for many years (fingers crossed!). I managed to solve an annoying problem at the weekend with mine - it had been rattling ho...

Re: New owner

i've just purchased a nearly new/used Cobra s/s exhaust from ebay for £110.The seller purchased it for £294,receipt provided, put it on,thought it was loud and replaced it with his old one. He'd covered approx 200 miles with the Cobra.I'm with sp1key,del & jesbright,£300-£400 for an exhaust is a ...

Re: New owner

Yes, some interesting views. Thanks to all who have contributed so far. I'm not prepared to spend £1000 on an exhaust = just doesn't make economic sense compared with the cost of the car etc. Will find out about the small flat spot on the cheapy I've found - presumably this could be added at fitting...

Re: New owner

Yes, a mini meet would be good. Not sure what type of location to suggest (other than avoiding supermarket car parks!). Still not sure what to do about the exhaust. Local garage quoted £180+vat for supply and fit of twin box exhaust. He was a little surprised at the cost. Must say I'm tempted by the...

Success

Just want to post to say that I had success with this recently. Just acquired a 1997 1.9 which came with a remote fob that didn't seem to do anything. Thought that the alarm had been ripped out at some point in time, but on seeing this thread decided to investigate. Found the siren at the front, so ...

Exhaust

Ah, been considering at longlife as they have a place in Bath and Taunton. Everywhere else seems a fairly long way away (and mostly motorway miles). They don't seem to advertise their prices like the other dealers do (making me think they're a bit more expensive) - think I've found all those that tr...

Hi All. Recently bought a Z3 and joined the forum. Been after something like it for a few years but only talked about it. Recently saw the Z on a local forecourt, wife said I could buy it (expecting me to dither and not bother), so I drove it and decided I wanted it. 1997 1.9 model in bright red (I ...
