Hi returning to the fold after 8 years

Hi people, after selling both of my Zs 7/8 years back I'm back. And I'm back with my red 2.8 which I sold to someone I knew, chap in his late 70s now in his 80s had always wanted a sports car and he rather liked my Z3, so 8 years ago sold it to him. He loved it and was kept in his garage with a few ...

I need to replace my fan as it makes the awful whooshing noise. Is it the fan or the Viscous coupling that makes the noise. Has anyone got any views of which one to get, I see eurocar parts have one and there are numerous on ebay. Next question is how is easy/hard is it to replace, it's a 99 2.8. Ch...

Re: How to disable alarm completely on MY00 2.0?

Had the same problem a few weeks back, disconnected bonnet switch and alarm. The problem was the tilt switch in the boot, there was so much water in the well it was causing a short circuit across the terminals.

Re: Alarm has started going off for no apparent reason

If the alarm still goes off, the culprit is likely to be the tilt sensor in bottom of the left-hand boot well, and it is likely that it has drowned. Cheers R. Now that would make sense, the boot got absolutley flooded the other weekend due to it being more or less open when there was a downpour, I ...

Well it wasn't the bonnet switch, disconnected that earlier and it just went off again.

Think I'll just disconnect the alarm, cars kept in the garage most of the time anyway.

Don't know exact cost of new but I know it was going to cost in excess of £600 for parts and £75 labour, in the end I had mine reconditioned, it cost £304 with p&p took about an hour to fit and bleed so labour would have been between £60-£100 depending on where you have it done.

Got one from Art design about 2 years ago. Bit of a pig to fit, you just have to ensure it's goes in straight on the first attempt. Still nice and clear, and not had any problems with it. Quality not as good as BMW but does the job. Put silicone spray on the zip, makes it go round easier.
