Re: MoT Fail
Hi R
thanks for input. The fail was the inner sills & possible inside that. repair could be £2K +.
The lower price reflects I'm in Northumberland & it would cost £50 to collect also Boston Green is not everybodys favourite colour so am allowing for respray.

Hi all am now in the process of scrapping my 1.9 auto '97 Z3 & have various parts I'd like to list for sale before it goes. Complete Hard Top fittings with Hard Top in Boston Green (I'm reliably informed a colour change costs approx £100) £800 for both. Also boot rack & fittings (its the one...

MoT Fail
Hi have just returned from my local MoT garage with a long list of fails. I had been expecting some issues but these problems are beyond my energy/resources so I am forced to dispose of the car. It is a '97 1.9 auto in Boston Green with a tan top. It would be a major project for an enthusiast or for...

Hi I carry bungee straps to hold flat wheel into the boot - never tried it (touch wood) so don't ask me what straps to what! I do also carry puncture repair spray but sounds tricky to use on a wet dark night? should fit my boot rack. Have read some people have hidden wheel in hedges & collect it...

Seat height adjustment freed
Making use of the lockdown, I have managed to free my stuck seat height. Tried it some time ago when it seemed to spring itself free but quickly got stuck again. This time I undid the bolt holding the aluminium piece & twisted it free. Applied lots of grease & a plastic washer hoping this wi...

My 1.9 has a red switch in the black plastic 'tidy' box in the boot next to rear light cluster- fairly obvious when you know so perhaps yours is elsewhere (if you have one?)

Drivers seat fixed
Having put up with a stuck seat for longer than I should, just spent most of the day trying to free the up/down movement. Following a couple of the instructions on this site, managed to get it loose, sprayed everything with WD40 & vacuumed underneath (found sixpence) re fitted seat & coupled...

Hi - I had this problem a couple of years ago & solved it by dismantling the mechanism from its 'box' which fitted in the boot. Sounds like the magazine goes in & out but do the discs travel across to the reader bit? Mind didn't but I found you can access the cogged wheels at the rear of the...

Re: Another thing after another
Update - after looking/feeling around the hoses but reluctant to remove bits to gain access (I invariably break something or lose bits so it ends up costing more) I took my z out for a spin again & mpg seemed to pick up & on return the 3rd code fault had disappeared leaving the O2 sensor fau...

Thanks for all input - I'm sure its not a reset/calibration issue as fuel guage is half full after only 120 miles so its definitely running rich.
