From what I can see, the wheels will extend a further 33mm out than the current rear wheels on a non-///M (assuming 35 offset on current mv2). Assuming the measurements you took are accurate and that my assumption of current offset is correct, the wheels you mentioned may fit. I can't guarantee this...

I get uneven wear on my tyres, inside edge on the rears. Both my current and previous Z3 had this effect on tyres. As far as I know it's something to be expected when dealing with Z's.

TomTom, I second the suggestion for getting a Storm Motorwerks gearknob. The changes are less clunky, much more solid and smooth, along with a better look than the standard gearknobs available from BMW. You won't be disappointed. :)

The offset you mention is only suitable for an ///M. Non-///M versions only accept ET35-48 IIRC. More info about all tyre markings and sizes.

Tyre mismatch on an axle is a no-no when it comes to the Z3. Many have had near misses with such a setup, and a few unlucky ones (myself included) have had an accident due to it. Just my tuppence. :)

Standard tyre pressures are roughly 32 psi. Given that your tyres will be wider than standard (255mm width on tread surface instead of 225mm), less psi will be needed as the load is spread over a larger surface area, or you will be liable to encounter some uneven wear. If left untreated, Mike, yes they will corrode. But a few layers of a good sealant will protect them. I have a polished lip on my alloys, and no permanent marks on them after driving all year round having used Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection regularly. You could also try Smartwax Rimwax.

My straight 6 sounds best with a good tank full of V Power from Shell. There's a notable difference in the sound of the Z if you fill up with anything else, and it just doesn't sound right. IMHO of course. :wink:

AFAIK you have to release the handles and push the roof up until the joints bend slightly, then hit the button.

You can also try Autoglym Super Resin Polish to remove and fill in the marks. For future prevention of scratches, try using a non abrasive blanket to line the inside of the window when dropping the roof.
