Tell me, is the window a part of the roof or can it be changed separately? BW Austin The window is a zipped in unit just like the original. The edge tucks under the seal as you would expect. Thanks for all the comments guys, SWMBO loves the look, she was very uncertain when I first suggested the co...

Update
After enduring one of the worst road trips ever today, the new roof is done. The trip to Romford ended up taking over 4 and a half hours :head: Some lorry driver decided it was time to close the M1 for the day :dunce: Anyway the guys at Hot Hoods fitted the hood despite the weather and very nice it ...

Titan Tim, I had a 1 series 120d SE until last September. I tried a set of 18 inch type 4 AC Schnitzers on it. Unfortunately without the lowered suspension it looked a bit 4 x 4 if you know what I mean. I kept the radius the same with much lower profile tyres to keep the speedo accurate. I put the 1...

Although I haven't seen one of these fitted, I can tell you that it doesn't come with the modified trim parts that finishes the job properly. Look at this thread; there are some pictures of the trim required. This trim is for the original fixing kit so again may not fit with this item. Perhaps someo...

I used Burton Motor Workshop yesterday. (Wetmore Road, Burton on Trent 01283 500750) I'm always nervous when using a new garage, however these guys were very good. I had to have the thermostat done on the Z3, I also asked them to check various other items too. The car came back with the work done, a...

Thanks for the help. There is no click when the switch is pushed back or forward. I disconnected the plug from the motor and used a multi meter to see if power was going through. No power at that plug which is why I think it may be the switch. It looks like the plastic trim will have to come off the...

Electric seat malfunction
I have a problem with the passenger electric seat. It goes up and down but not back and forth. Unfortunately its jammed as far back as it will go. This means I can't get at the rear seat bolts, and dismantling the seat in the car seems to be tricky. Does anyone know how to get the seat moving forwar...

We're going to Hot Hoods in Romford who will do the work. I hadn't considered what to do with the roof. It has just a couple of small scuffs. Is it of any use to anyone? I'll take some pictures of the scuffs...it definitely doesn't leak. Here you go, not cleaned this year yet. http://i783.photobucke...

Updated pictures before the new roof is fitted AND TOPLESS!!
First of all a big thanks to all the contributors on the site; I've fixed things I wouldn't have tried before I came here. We have just ordered a new roof (in delicious Burgundy Red) which will be fitted in about 10 days time. I thought I'd post a few pictures first and then update after the job's d...

By careful sourcing of the right OEM parts, I managed to do all my brakes for under £100 :) When I had my newish 1 series the local dealer was forever making recommendations and offering various additional services. Only tricky bit was the rear discs which were difficult to get off due to the handbrake shoes. Took a bit of fiddling to wind back the shoe adjuster through the rather small hole provi...

The actuator came off Ebay. It's not a difficult job. Here's the guide http://www.zroadster.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t...

Added a Z3 to the household fleet on Wednesday. She really belongs to my better half but I'll be the one bringing her back to her best. This site has already been useful to me as I resolve a few niggles. The car is a 99 2.8 Auto in Arctic Silver with a Rec Leather interior.....my wife loves the heat...
