Sorry to hear about your woes. Not sure why getting one is such a problem - maybe down to the number of these that were made? I have a similar problem with my Subaru Legacy - dealer-only for the exhaust. Personally I would go for a custom made exhaust, which is what I'll do when the Subaru needs one...

It was really about the cars themselves, rather than the excitement of the placement. One interesting fact in the article was about the Z8 that was in one of the films (I forget which). Apparently they desperately wanted a Z8 for the film, but BMW hadn't actually made any in time. All they were able...

I'd suggest that you get some BMW diagnostic software up and running on a laptop - it's not that difficult, just a bit time consuming, but will allow you to see exactly what's wrong. One other thing - get the tracking checked afterwards. Even if it was done recently, with wibbly-wobbly bushes it could still be well out. And don't get sucked in to paying for a 4 wheel alignment (in my opinion) - the rears aren't adjustable, so no point. After I did my bushes and, ultimately, wish...

I take the (admittedly untested) view that I would argue that something like a brake upgrade makes the car safer, and so wouldn't declare it but would argue the toss if it came to it. A performance upgrade would be a turbo or something like that. I've seen forum posts where people have replaced worn...

That error code suggests that the fault is with the warning lamp. Now, that might seem a bit odd, given that it is lit, but there are actually two bulbs in the airbag warning lamp. I wonder whether the primary bulb has blown, caused the error, and lit the second bulb? That's a pure guess, but it's e...

Re: Dont be Alarmed..but im having alarm problems!
The bonnet switch is easy to disable. When you open the bonnet it's a pop-up plunger switch on the slam panel, on the right (as you stand looking at the car - on the left if you are siting in the car). There's a multi-plug that goes into it. Just unplug it and leave it. I have taken my switch apart ...

Paul, You need to get the codes read - there's no point trying to diagnose the problem without. Apart from anything, you need a code reader to clear the fault and put the light out anyway. It is probably an intermittent fault as has been stated, but you can fiddle around until the cows come home and...

I wouldn't panic at this stage, as there's every chance that the throttle pot error could be linked to the others. Check the codes again in a week and take it from there, but I wouldn't be spending money at this stage.

The 1.8 is actually a 1.9 in terms of capacity. I had a 318 coupe of this era with the same engine. It was referred to as a 1.8 by BMW because it was less powerful than the 1.9 it had replaced due to being an 8v engine instead of a 16v. This was done to improve low-rev torque. I really liked it.
