I have to agree with Dave L2, I still leave mine up with the hardtop on and don't have any visibility problems.
The only time that I cant see much out the rear window is when I have the BMW suit case on the boot rack.

Sounds like low fluid but may be worth taking it to an auto specialist as topping up or changing is a bit complex but probably easy for someone who knows. I agree with DC. I have two centre consoles in the workshop here and the side trim cannot be removed from either, it forms the console itself! You will have to release the centre console and lift it up from the rear enough to get your hand in behind the clock. There are plenty wires in there, be careful not to dist...

My digital clock went (as rgf would say) blue tits up yesterday, so I bought a new (second hand one) from a Dutch Z3 forum member.

How can I best remove the duff one without damaging my dash?

Part number three looks like a fixing torx bolt for part number one (if that makes sense)
