Re: MUDFLAPS ?
No drilling of the body required, they attach by expanding plastic plugs that attach to the inner wing liner. All that is required to be drilled is the inner wing plastic liner that the flaps are secured to - not the end of the world and easy enough to change if desired later. Warm the flaps up with...

Re: MUDFLAPS ?
The term 'mudflaps' is a bit of a misnomer in this instance. Certainly from my point of view I fitted them to protect the paintwork on the sills and front of the rear wings from chipping by flying grit. They are very discreet and tasteful and certainly not the big flapping bright blue world rally ty...

Re: MUDFLAPS ?
They appear absolutely identical to the ones Halfords stores sell having bought a pair myself. They fit perfectly to the front of Z3's having trimmed away the lower section to the 'step' in the moulding. I warmed them with a hairdryer first to make them soft and pliable enabling them to be positione...

Re: Sports Suspension Option - What is it?
I had a broken front coil spring and was in a dilemma as to what to do. BMW springs seem to have a reputation for failure unlike aftermarket ones. As my car (May 2002 also) has M sports suspension I did not want to compromise by fitting an aftermarket spring so bit the bullet and bought one new OE B...

Re: Dual Mass Flywheel
What are peoples views on replacing the DMF with a conventional flywheel, I believe conversion to non DMF is popular and much cheaper. Somewhere I read the DMF should be changed at "every other new clutch replacement", but unless you drive like a loon that is a lot of miles!

Well the sun was shining, 2nd week of the school holidays, so down came the hood and by 9.15a.m I was tanked up and off for some cruising in the Peaks zed style. Matlock, Bakewell then up over Chelmorton Moor stopping for a brew near Magpie Mine. Then into Buxton (where I used to work and commute to...

I could well be wrong but I think stainless nuts/bolts will not have the necessary tensile loading and therefore should not be used in high stressed applications.

When I fitted new Meyle ball joints to my front wishbones they came with new nuts, however I too wanted to replace the other fastenings. What you need is one of those 'tuning fork' style ball joint splitters that are wedge shaped. Position it correctly between underside of subframe and balljoint pin with some grease around and drive it home aiming carefully with a hammer blow. They will pop out, did mine not long ago.
