From my experience the code will be lost after disconnecting the battery. You should be able to get the code from a dealer, they used my vin and gave me the code :)

If I remember correctly the mini has a large recess in the door, as the internals of the mirror protrude further into the door than the base.

That's a good setup, seems a bit pricey. Might pay you to shop around for the springs and shocks separately.

Heavy duty velcro, you then need to glue one side to the bumper and the other to the back of the plate. Works really well, also an added advantage is when you feel like a spirited drive and want to avoid the cameras, they are easily removed/replaced

Interesting never heard of this before, why would this happen as one never drives the same when in sport mode, different roads different circumstances. Just my opinion.

I've been using hubcentric spacers for years and have not had any problems, I drive my cars hard. Have not heard of this happening before, are the spacers you using a good quality, as well as the bolts.

There are various combinations, I misplaced mine, took the car to a dealer, they came out with a selection tried fitting a few and eventually found the right one.
