Re: Machine polish
The clay bar changes the fingertip feel of the paint from sandpit to glass, it really does make a difference
I've also heard that blu-tac is every bit as good!

Machine polish
Thought I'd shine up mrs smartbears z3 today so got out my machine polisher & gave it a blast after a wash & clay bar session :) Pretty pleased with the improvement especially as I'm only a beginner at this polishing lark! http://i593.photobucket.com/albums/tt12/smartbear_bucket/imagejpg3-17...

Re: Z3 UPGRADES AND ADDITIONS.
im new to this forum but it looks to me as though barry provides an invalueble service & we are lucky to have an inventive person helping with solutions to problems, ive bought a pair of his seat belt guide brackets and dont mind paying barrys price at all-whats the alternative?

Got her home alongside my z4!
Picked up mrs smartbears z3 today & got the sponges out straightaway :) Very pleased with the general condition & will try to improve it with my machine polisher soon, I drove it home & was very impressed with the 2.2 engine, it feels very fit & eager. Fits right in next to my z4! ht...

After nearly buying a z3 a short while ago (I got a z4 instead) mrs smartbear is getting one this week! It's an individual 2.2 late 2002 car-looking forward to fettling it, needs a new rear window & tidying up a little-it's only covered 63k so hopefully good for a few more! http://i593.photobuck...

Re: I'm new here, having a look around
No worries woody, cheers for your number-will give you a call during the week. Will be sad to see the Elise go but at the same time I hope I get a buyer for it, it's a bit stressful waiting for the phone to ring! I'm on autotrader/pistonheads tons at the mo waiting to see if any new cars appear, I'm...

Re: I'm new here, having a look around
I've put my Elise up for sale on pistonheads tonight-had a couple of call already with a firm offer from a dealer & an interested private buyer :) I took out a 2.2 z3 from a backstreet dealers yesterday & was underwhelmed but I strongly suspect all was not well with it, very flat just off id...

Re: I'm new here, having a look around
Thanks for the welcome guys, im thinking hard about selling my lotus at the moment-its great fun but very impractical :shake: im liking the sound of the 2.8 or 3.0 the more i read about them, surprisingly economical for the engine size. My nephew works at a bmw specialists (bennets of maldon) which ...

I'm new here, having a look around
Hi, I've presently got a lotus Elise which I love driving but my other half doesn't like travelling in it due to the noise/lack of comfort & well pretty much everything really! I like the look of the Z3 and thought it could be a good compromise car that we would both like & use for weekends ...
