Re: Trim Pieces for sale ripped of on freight

Post by jont »

Hi all

I purchased the footwell trim pieces from Dev008 and was originally quoted about 40 pounds for freight then the freight charge was upgraded to 94 pounds for a quick delivery to Australia so based on this I went ahead.

Dev008 was unable to give me a correct con note number to track the trim pieces after many messages back and forth the items turned up 2 months later ,but the package was marked economy freight at a charge of 40 pounds the original price quoted.

I have contacted dev008 for a refund of 64 pounds which I have not received .

I have given Dev008 the option of refunding the amount that he ripped me of or I would be posting what happed , he did give me a refund obviously hence this post

The money is not the problem it is the principle .people should not be allowed to get away with this type of crap.

Hi John,
I look at it this way, I'm always expected to be ripped off and pleasantly surprised when I'm not.

I have both purchased from guys using this forum and sold items. All my transactions have been good value and I've had the pleasure of meeting some. It's always disappointing to hear of this type of problem but in my experience of this forum,it would appear to be an isolated issue and not the norm.I expect Dev will respond as he is an active member of this forum.

An unpleasant experience, and one which I have considered since I have bought from fellow members. Fortunately, I haven't ever been "ripped", which speaks volumes about the majority of people on the forum. I can't recall if I did any deals with Dev, but may have, so I must add that I have no complaint with him. I do know I sent Radlitt an item, took it to the PO and paid for it to be air freighted...unfortunately the PO sent it surface mail...took 4 weeks+ to deliver to him in the UK. Unfortunately, I paid the PO the airfreight rate, and did lodge a complaint with them...but like most of these institutions, nothing came of it.
I really hope Dev will sort John, it's the right thing to do.

Don't hold your breath looks like Dev has gone to ground.

Seems he only joined this forum to sell what he could ?

I have just had a after thought maybe the moderators should place a restriction on members selling items after a trial period, which hopefully will weed out the crooks.

We have been here before with this suggestion, a guy selling chrome gills to a number of members at over £100 a time, only to find the money gone and no gills.
Unfortunately the only guaranteed method is to pay cash on collection.
I have had many members sell me goods without issue on here. I think the vast majority are honest people, but you may get one or two that take advantage.
Can't comment on this transaction and there may be a valid reason, he logged on earlier and he may be sorting something as we speak.

but just as anywhere in life, you can get tw*ts on forums also.

I have an element of 'M-styling' on my car, If that's a good enough reason for the manufacturers to adorn a 320 with the M badge, then its certainly a good enough reason for me..
