Breaking pre-facelift 1.9

Post by mrscalex »

Most parts available except body panels which are rotted or already re-used on my brother's 1.9. Doors and engine bay parts can be reserved but not yet ready to remove. Please post requests and I will advise availability and give a price offering you first dibs (hope that's allowed as per forum rules).

In the meantime some sample parts:

Engine. 150k miles but felt/sounded excellent driving it home. FREE if you remove it and the gearbox from the car yourself. I don't have time or a hoist to do it myself. I will require the gearbox and most of the ancillaries and manifolds etc for my own spares or separate sale.

Foglamps. £35 pair
Filler cap flap (Boston Green). £10
Wheel arch liners. £10 each
Electric window switches. £10 each
Hazard switch. £10
Handbrake gaiter (black). £10
Sun visors (black) with fixings. £15 pair
Washer bottle/pump. £15

Okay to ship lighter items at cost. And/or collection from Swindon (or Swansea). As long as you spend £30+ if you are within 15 minutes of the M4 between Swindon and Swansea will drop off for you. Also happy to meet up as far as Newbury services if it helps those from the South East.

They're black leather but... a) I won't know until the weekend if I need them or not b) the driver's side has a repair on the rear although only a tiny tear is visible from the front and that has been neatly filled. The passenger side is more badly broken (on the rear) and whilst it will repair and look nice on the front side it's a big repair and I'm not sure when I'll get round to doing it. The trouble with door cards is people rip them off and break the card on the back (not personally guilty). They should be removed with a proper tool. They can often be repaired but to do it properly is time consuming with fibreglass and a variety of other adhesives to get it looking just right again.

I'll get some photos to you tonight. Give me a nudge tomorrow if I forget tonight as I'm not home yet.

It's Thursday I'll be through though not Friday.

It does have a fuel cap. However it's the type that requires the ignition key to unlock it. So not much use to you I guess as I obviously need to keep the key.

This is probably what you want (double-check if you go for it). And a tenner is a fair price with postage.
