Having had most of the lower dashboard out in recent days I'm well in need of some new screw covers.
However I though you may be interested in a quick way that I've used to remove the screws without doing too much damage.

By using a very small electrical Phillip's screw driver, it was possible to "stab" the plastic cover and undo the screw through it.
It's not perfect but until new covers are purchased, it's a reasonable solution and as the plastic recovers from the deformation, it become less obvious.

I had the same "issues" and bought half a dozen from dealer to replace missing / damaged ones on mine. I think the cost was 12p each + VAT :wink:
