heavy snow in the south east cor blimey
weve got really heavy snow coming down, looks like we could have 10 cm by the morning,DONT DRIVE,glad im a day off tomorrow
Just nipped outside, hoping to find a snow drift the size of the Great Wall of China, instead found enough snow in the road to build 1 snowball to share between us. Disappointed

Looking forward to playing in the snow but nothing in this part of Somerset yet

Mmmmmmmmmmmm has been chucking down snow on and off all day in Lincs.
Forecast to set in tonight.
Went to put horses back in field this evening but they didn't want to go so have left them tucked up in the stables.

Been snowing since late afternoon here, and I've been stuck inside. Just woke up due to a cat being strangled outside (seriously sounded like it! ) and was met with this scene. I thought I'd snap a few shots and add them to the thread:
and from the front of the block:
I think I'll be walking tomorrow, not even going to chance taking the Z out.

now very bad here,as i work at stansted its closed and the trains into it have now stopped, leaving thousands stranded at the airport again, minimal buses working and very few taxi,s.and i going in to work at stansted thats a huge no,the risk is good id be in a ditch before i get there,so its pots of tea and toasted crumpts, jubbly
The snow isn't actually that bad up here - it goes from blinding sunshine to heavy snow showers every half hour or so.

Love the snowman Alex.
It has settled here overnight too and flurries of snow on and off this morning.
I am working from home today.
Just went to turn the horses out with their heavy rugs on and had a lovely barn owl fly silently past, about 10 feet from my face. I could see all the detail in his. He was gorgeous. I wish I had got a piccy as he looked fabulous against the snowy scene. Wouldn't want to frighten him though.

Started snowing here in Reigate last night and has been snowing on and off all day. Unfortunately I could not get to work today so had to take granddaughter to local park to try out her tabogan. Still works well considering I bought it originally for her mum!!!
I must still be a kid at heart as I couldn't resist having a go myself Think I'll stick to the Zed in future - It's less scarey!!!!
Luckily no one got a picture of me but took this one of my granddaughter in Priory Park. The building in the background is her school which like all the others in the area was closed for the day. I think she is hoping it will stay closed all week.

El Reg has a funny take on events:
Wrong kind of winter brings England to a halt
Please note that Page 3 is NSFW.
Only in Britain could a little bit of snow cause the railways websites to crash!
Cheers R.

Unfortunately you would be surprised just how many people in the UK (north AND south) cannot adjust to the conditions. They expect thier daily lives and routines to be un-interrupted.
Sadly, this means their cars must also behave as though nothing has changed. Consequently, in any town or city, you can see countless examples of vehicles with a small space cleared in the windscreen trying to drive at 30, 40, 50, 60 or 70mph as though nothing is wrong. (They are probably on their mobile phones as well but you can't tell)
I did see one chap this week though who had made an effort - his windscreen and side windows were clear of snow and frost. Most commendable - except he had his 'phone in one hand and was puffing on a cigarette with the other - whilst steering with his knees.......
Went to some proper snow in the northeast today
