Sat 17 Oct 09: The last hurrah!

Post by spokey »

Well, hopefully not the last hurrah, but a "getting towards the end of the year" hurrah! :D

The plan will be to meet at the OK Diner in Tickencote on Saturday, 17 October at some time between 09:00 (if you want breakfast) and 09:30 (if you just want coffee) and depart from there at 10:00 (or hopefully a bit earlier if Alfie isn't late again! )

I'll work out a couple of route options and email TomTom itineraries to people who PM me with their email addresses. Since the days are getting shorter very quickly, I'll be aiming to wrap this one up by 16:00 or thereabouts!

Menu:

Lincolnshire Sausages with Bubble & Squeak and Onion Gravy £6.95
Lambs Liver with Bacon, Mashed Potato and Onion Gravy £7.50
Cheeseburger served with Side Salad and handcut Chips £7.50
Pork, Sage and Apple Burger served with Coleslaw and handcut Chips £7.50
Crown Potato Cake with Stilton or Cheddar served with Side Salad and Coleslaw £6.25
Beer Battered Cod, handcut Chips and Peas £8.95
Deep Fried Scampi, handcut Chips and Peas £8.95
Chefs Steak & Ale Pie, handcut Chips and Vegetables £8.95
10oz Rump Steak with Onion Ring, Tomato, Mushrooms and handcut Chips £10.50
10oz Gammon Steak and Egg with Tomato, Mushrooms and handcut Chips £9.50
Thai style Chicken Curry and Rice with Poppadoms £8.95
Crown Pasta (Chicken, Peppers mushrooms and Chorizo served in a Cream Sauce) £8.95
Ploughman’s Platter: Cheese, Ham, Pork Pie, Pickles and Salad £7.50

Side Orders

Meals are served as described above. Additional side orders are available.

To be fair, it's 120 miles if he goes M6 / A50 and then some absolutely mental roads to the starting point. I can see why he wouldn't want to do that! :D

I would love to say yes but I'm due in court in Watford for a 3 day trail on the Wed/Thurs/Fri before and have to travel back each night, I'm wary that if I say yes to this now I'll end up crying off as I'll have put a lot of miles in that week. I'll keep my head down for now and hope the defendant settles before trial

Right hears the script, good news is that solicitor phoned today to say looks like other side are going to try and settle :D

Bad news is 2 hours later my mate phoned to see if I fancy going to Spain playing golf Thursday to Monday that weekend :D

So I have a massive incentive to get case settled within a week but if I do will be going to Spain

So have a good one, either way I'll have to give it a miss.

I'll definately make it to one of yours next year Spokey (I'll make a weekend of it in summer  )
