Hi from Germany
Hi from Germany
Hi everybody,
although I won't be a frequent user of this forum I should probably introduce myself.
I am living in the area of Cologne in Germany, about 45 mls away from the Nurburgring. In 2002 I bought my first Z8, which is the one that you see on most pictures in the Z8 section.
After the frame discussions and considering the danger that I will potentially destroy my car some day I decided to buy a second Z8 as a reserve.
Greetings to everybody on this board, perhaps there is a chance to see each other in the future.
Cheers,
Dieter

Yes indeed, photographs of everything. Arial, wipers, cigar lighter, glove box, brake pedal, etc etc. All photos of the Z8 from any angle greatly appreciated.Robert T wrote:Well if you're not driving it, I could look after it for you and give it a run every once in a while!
Both cars looks stunning. Please do keep frequenting the forum, and please, please, do keep posting pictures - they are fabulous.
Cheers R.

Oops, looks like that picture caught your interest...
I admit that I am a bit of a Z8 maniac. So here is the basic story:
I bought the first one new in 2002, and not surprisingly I enjoyed driving it a lot. Then I started modifying it (see list in the other Z8 thread), which didn't really reduce the fun.
All of a sudden the frame discussion started after a meeting in Switzerland, where we detected the damages. So I started getting a bit nervous about me being able to drive the car longterm.
I should probably mention that I have never felt in a car like in the Z8. No other car has been able to trigger emotions like this one.
In the UK, you would probably say the Z8 is quite acceptable for me.
So we detected that there were only 37 Z8 frames left in stock for the entire Z8 production. I said, hell, I want to have a second chance for sure if I bend my frame. So the first step was to buy this one here:
I know, they all look ugly with stock wheels, but this frame made me sleep a lot better. Then I happened to run into the other stratus Z8. Since only 46 were ever built in that color combo I decided to go for it right away. This car will be driven about 5000 mls per year, not more. Just to keep it in motion.
Of course I had to show you the "Ford" here, please forgive me.
My wife drives the X3 in the background. She doesn't like to drive fast, and she will touch the Z8 or the DB9 only if I am in the passenger seat.

I am looking at the meeting South of London in July, perhaps that might be an opportunity to make a weekend trip to the UK.

P (what a wonderful name ),
I'd love to go there, I love England. Never been over with the Z8 though.
What a pity that we won't be allowed to drive on the track.

Hope we can shake hands sometime on the ring, 90 mile trip from here.
I know, I shouldn't drive her up there, but it is great fun.
