My windshield wipers sometimes seem to "stutter" hang up,....
Wonder if I need to grease the system a bit, but how to access??
Or the rubbers are to grippy on the windshield?

Re: Windshield wiper
New wiper blades generally work wonders.

Re: Windshield wiper
Drove through the rain today and it was no problem,… replacing the wipers might be a good start…
Re: Windshield wiper
If it occurs during light rain and wipers dont cure it, check the motor and wiper mechanism from under the scuttle, they may need cleaning and lubricating the parts.
Re: Windshield wiper
The easiest way to check if it is the wiper blades is to remove them from the spindles, turn on the wipers and hold the splined spindle. If it still judders try lubricating the mechanism, its a 10 minute job, I had to do this to silence an annoying squeak when the wipers were turned on.
Mark the position of the wipers with a piece of masking tape on the glass, lift the cap over the spindle and undo the 13mm nut. If the nut is tight you will probably need a Puller to release the arm from the splines. Don't try a lever the arm off against the surrounding plastic trim, it will break and you will swear .. a lot !

Remove the rubber trim around the edge of the bulkhead, gently remove the 3 square plastic retaining clips with flat nosed pliers and lift out the plastic trim, (two parts) and you will see the bell cranks of the wiper mechanism.
Switch the wipers on and lubricate the mechanism and check the electrical connector is well sealed. You can also put a small amount of very thin oil around the base of the wiper spindle. When putting it back together put a small amount of copper grease on the splines and don't over tighten the nut .. the wiper blade won't fly off, unlike a Porsche.
