It is time for my Z1 to get new panels. Almost every one is cracked, and they have become super brittle. I've emailed a few suppliers in the USA who told me "sorry...no longer produced." I am aware of the carbon fiber options, but wanted to see if anyone has any suggestions for a place for me to order all new side body panels (wings, fenders, doors, etc.)
thanks!

Re: need new body panels
Someone on the Z1 Facebook group said that BMW was producing more panels.
I have no verification of that, I think the posts were in French, but it looked like they were 1500 Euro each panel.

Thanks Hank!
Most of the vendors have said "sorry, no longer available" but 1 or 2 in Germany said BMW planned production for more panels is scheduled for June. so it sounds like it might be happening.

That sounds promising! Let us know what you find, I may have to pick up a spare set just in case.

Hi,
why don't you ask the BMW Classic ( classic@bmwgroup.com ) ?
(please post the answer from BMW Classic right here in the forum, then everyone will know how much the preservation of our classic cars (and our customer satisfaction) means to BMW Classic.
The more of us ask for parts that are currently not available, the sooner the missing parts will be reproduce.
Regards
Michael
BTW.: I'm offering welding repair of the most plastic parts. The Parts are not less brittle then, but you can certainly use them for a few more years.
The only roblem is that I'm located in Germany and the shipping cost from/to USA might be a little bit too high.

Re: need new body panels
BMW have commissioned replacement panels in the past as and when there is sufficient accrued demand. As suggested by Michael I would be inclined to contact BMW Classic direct to register your requirements rather than rely on your local BMW dealer.
A batch of new front wings were produced in 2013, not cheap, and made Mexico. They arrive in a base primer so will need to be painted. I have kept the old panels until such time as an effective and reliable repair can be made.

Re: need new body panels
I will email bmwclassic. thanks for the tip!
Michael, I wish you were in the USA, as I think you are correct that shipping would be painful.
I will keep you all posted of the outcome.
thanks again
