Which is best ???
Which tail lights do you think look best for the Zed's?

Not Keen
Sorry - I'm not keen on any of them - although I don't suffer from the usual BMW Car Club 'Originality' fetish, I really do prefer the original lights, wihout the lenses being darkened, and with orange upper portions.
Clear or darkened tail lights lenses are just another fashion craze, a lot of people not really thinking about what THEY prefer, and just blindly following whatever they perceive as being the current fashion. It does not matter what other people fancy - it's your car, so make up your own mind about it.
I know, it is 'de rigeur' as les French would say, to have clear trafficator lenses, but someone has to like the original orange - and it goes well with my particular orangey-red shade of BMW Hell Rot.

If you have orange lenses, replace them with clear, and put in silver indicator bulbs to stop the 'fried egg' look. Apart from that, keep them standard.
The top one is deffo my choice as it's close to the original. All this smoked / blacked-out stuff is chavvy and really doesn't work on a retro classic like the Z3.
Just IMHO of course. It's your car and you're not trying to ///Make it look like it's something it's not......so go ahead.

Top ones. Although, for some reason, the fourth one doesn't offend me too much either.
Ciao,

Sorry, have to agree with others, I think they look a bit too plasticy (if that's possible for an item which is plastic anyway) and fake. gives the impression of 'jewellry' as sported by the saxo brigade to me...
Some subtle changes, i.e. just changing the amber to white can sometimes work, but generally I'm a fan of the original. smoked could look ok on a black one but I'm not convinced...
Each to their own though!

go with the white and red clear type (the first at the top). you can get a bit more info here! at the top of the page.
having seen your silver zed, road2ruin, are those BK299 alloys? They don't half look quite nice

You could try and de lense the front indicators, and just replace the normal bulbs with orange blinkers. See here: Clicky!
Just a thought......

i will have to disagree with you on this one. clear lenses look fantastic on the Z3 and there's a reason why they are standard in the Z3M and the newer BMWs. and in my opinion, amber lenses look the worst in red cars. they look fine in white or black cars, but look horrible in red. hope i didn't offend anyone
