Our Z3 needs a new battery, have seen on Euro Car Parts site the Bosch ones for reasonable money.
One question though, our Z3 has a vent tube on the battery, never had a car with a vent tube fitted before.
Does it matter if the new battery has one or not?
Thanks.

Tube
As the Z3 battery is in the boot - a sealed area - the vent tube is used to permit the battery to 'breathe' to the outside.
AS a lead-acid battery produces small amounts of hydrogen and oxygen while being charged, this explosive mixture could ignite if youopened the boot while smoking, or there was an electrical spark. It could also penetrate into the cockpit are while the roof was up, with similar interesting effects.
So - the vent tube is worth having.
