Which Z3 body shape do you prefer????

Post by danteblitz »

Apologies if this has already been asked. I did a search but couldnt find anything...

I am currently looking at getting me a z3 and have been to see a few. Original I said to myself that I would only get a facelift model but then went to see a pre-facelist wide-bodied 2.8. I was quite suprised at how much I liked it. I prefer it to the facelift.

I think Im gonna get it this weekend.

So was just curious. What z3 body shape do people on this forum prefer???

pre-facelift(skinny), pre-facelift (wide), facelift or coupe????

I prefer the rear light arrangement on the wide pre-facelift, but like the arches on the facelift - that extra bit of raised bulge looks really good!

My bad.

I thought the ///M was identitcal to the pre-facelift (widebody) with regards to the general body shape, excusing of course the M styling tweaks.

Am i wrong to presume this??

I did try to edit this post and add an ///M ption but it wont let me edit the poll options no more. :(

I've got a facelift but if i was buying now i would go for a wide body pre-facelift as it's the purest design and i've voted accordingly. The "M" is more of a tart's handbag.

The ///M basic shape is the same as pre facelift wide body but the boot is totally different (ie relocated number plate etc...) to accommodate the quad exhaust system. I was partly joking as for this purpose think it could be classed as pre facelift widebody

When I saw the coupe for the first time, it made me think of these two classics.

Scimitar GTE

Was going to buy this one last December, but some one got there before me.

I Voted Skinny (Only because I have one), Sorry but the coupe has horrible lines (my opinion), As for Face Lift vs Pre Facelift vs Wide Body I believe the lines are good on all these models, with very little to choose from. :D

Pre-facelift wide gets my vote (although the coupe ran it a very close 2nd)

I always prefered the facelift rear lights, headlights and interior enhancements. But I think the pre-facelift arches look more aggressive than the softer 'hump' arches of the facelift model!

+1 .. I like everything about the Facelift, except the rear arches. I think the pre-facelift arches look so much meaner. Facelift looks like its eaten too much spinach.

Coupe aside, the Z3M Roadster looks the best IMO, this has the facelift interior bits anyway, but it's surprising how much different the car looks when the plate is between the taillights. The facelift rear end does look more modern but the prefacelift arches look more aggressive but it has to be M-spec, and if I had a 2.8 I'd fit an M rear bumper and relocate the plate!!
