Sport or Non-sport

Post by aspron »

I've read Toggitts thread about his 2.2 and wonder if my 2000 2.8 is a sport or not, and what the suspension differences are as I am thinking that I need to replace dampers and bushes etc.

Therefore I need to know what to order.

My car has air-con, heated electric seats, wheels that look like - and maybe - split rims (wider rears) but no silver/aluminium dashboard.

What is the definitive method for knowing the proper spec?

Many thanks,

Steve

easiest way to tell is clear 3rd brake light lens and mesh under the front bumper instead of slats, ironically my 2001 2.2 is not a sport but was ordered with m sport suspension, m seats, wider rear 17 inch wheels, l.s.d and power hood, guess someone had some spare cash :)

There are no 2.8 sports as the sport variants only came out late in the Z3 life cycle ie after the last 2.8 was made.

Mines a production line 3.0i sport and has slats under the front bumper?

What have I got?

All the literature for mine states its a Z3 3.0i Sports Roadster. It has mesh under the front bumper and has an 'M' logo inscribed with the gear positions on the gear knob.

Done a pictorial search of 3.0i sports and it's 50/50 mesh and slats so must have been an option?

Thanks for the responses.

So, as mine is a 2.8, it should have 'standard' suspension so all I've got to do is get stuff that directly replaces OEM kit, having first measured the diameter of the ARBs so I get the correct bushes - or have I missed something?
