Traction control + ABS lights permanently on

Post by Roadster22i »

Can any offer me any advice on how i could diy fix my traction control and ABS light problem. I have a peake tool reader and they dont diagnose ASC/ABS. Had a look at taking abs sensors out. But once i removed the bolt i found they were stuck in solid. Anyway to check them with out removing them.

I don't think you can check them without removing them. One of mine was difficult to remove, and needed some force! In hindsight probably quite lucky I didn't snap the head off the bolt. Be careful!

Maybe worth trying to keep the bolt soaked in some WD40 type stuff for a day or so.

If the sensor is stuck, you can use a flat blade screwdriver to ease them out. I replaced my rears on Thursday and they were a bit grubby.

Also you can use WD40 or similar to ease them out.

I didn't fancy trial and error for an hour or 2 on the driveway so went to my local indie. They diagnosed my faulty sensor with a code reader so it can be done with the right software Gaz.

You can unplug each sensor without removing it and meausre the resistance.

A good sensor will read about 1000 Ohms.
