Falken FK 452........255 or 245

Post by Cloz »

Hi,
My rear tires are now are FK452 245/40/R17. They are good enought for next season. The front are good for another two season or more. The problem is Falken are not producing FK452 any more. But I have found two sets on ebay.
-255/40/R17
-245/40/R17
I would like to get larger in the back but I am not sure about the fuel consumption. Is there a noticeable difference between both? :rtm:
Thank you.

Hello Cloz,

I went from 245 Michelins to F452 255 on the rear with no difference in fuel consumption so should be fine.

The Falken FK-452 and 453 mix happily - I have a 452 and 453 on the rear wheels, and have not found any problems at all.

As for the size - the larger size will not impress anyone, so why bother?
A Z3 is not just for Christmas - it's for life!

255 summers on the rear, good luck with that one in the snow  be interested to hear how you fare.

I got rid of the Falkens, 225 fronts, 255 rears on the AC Schnitzers for a set of 225/40 all seasons for winter use. I didn't fancy chancing it with the Falkens after reading they're pretty hopeless in the snow. With the all seasons the Zed breezed through a foot of snow on ice with no problems last winter, have been very impressed with Vredestein Quadracs :)

Maybe so but for myself I really like the look of the G.Y. F1. But my budget is limited and the FK 452 is near in the look and the price is good. I do not like the look of the 453
