Hi guys,
I'd like some advice on removing the rocker cover on a 1.9 M43 Z3 please.
Looks like I need to replace the gasket, and I will also tidy the cover up during the process.
The Internet seems scarce of any instructions for the 4-cyl engines, so I was hoping somebody on here could offer some instructions/advice/clicky links to help me on my way!
Thanks in advance,
David

The 318ti.org website has lots of M44 engine advice, as that car shares many elements of the M44 Z3. Have a look at:

Thanks BladeRunner,
That's the one link I did manage to find also.
My only concern is this - how much difference is there between the M44 and M43 engine?

The difference is in the number of camshafts - 2 for the M44 - 16v; 1 for M43 -8v;DavidZ3 wrote:Thanks BladeRunner,

The location of the spark plugs is also a bit different but that should not be a problem.

Did mine 6 weeks ago - most of the points are covered in this discussion and attachments http://zroadster.org/forum/threads/m44- ... post-48124.
The fiddly bit is landing the cover and new gasket at the rear due to restricted access under cable tray otherwise it is straightforward.
I would suggest you change all associated profile gaskets while you are at it including bolt vibration/seal rubbers and oil header inlet O ring.
EDIT - sorry misread the M43 bit and replied in a rush
