Re: New car prices
IIRC, the opening price for the basic models was the same as the engine size, ie:
1.9 was approx £19,000
2.8 was approx £28,000
I'm sure someone will come up with something more accurate soon!

Thanks for that
Re: New car prices
There was a list posted a few weeks back for 1998 cars. Mine is a 98 2.8 and was listed at £28800 if memory serves me correctly.

......and to think last year I picked my '98 2.8 up for £2400 (mountain bike money!), and if you get a good one (which touch wood, I did) you are still getting a lot for your money and even more pleasure/fun because you've not shelled out just under a wacking £30k!!

Re: New car prices
I've got 2 price lists - March 1999 and July 1999
The earlier one has on the road prices as follows
1.9 -£21510
2.8 - £28150
M Roadster - £40600
M Coupe - £40600
By July 1999 they had changed to
1.8 - £19995
2.0 - £22995
2.8 - £28350
M Roadster and Coupe unchanged.
Obviously the engine line up had changed.

Re: New car prices
In 1998 the £28K was for the 2.8 base model, when you start adding on the options it can be a lot more. Mine was £32K with the extras

Thanks for all the replys guys
Re: New car prices
Just found the invoice for my zed from March 1999...
From that, I make the OTR price £21,541. The Z-Star alloys and electric hood were slightly more than I thought! And it doesn't say J. Bond for the sales person either - it gives his full first name.

Re: New car prices
Think mine was around 22K in 2001, I've got a 2001 pricelist with brochure somewhere. On mine the owner was obviously a bit tight and didn't pay extra for air con or an electric hood Still less to go wrong now.
