z4 alloys cracking

Post by ladders »

hi i bought my z3 in october last year and it had a brand new set of alloys on it never been curbed and shod with used run flats.obviously i have heard that the z4 alloys suffer from cracking so am a little worried as to what might happen ,i've checked them out and there is a slight marking on the offside rear wheel between the spokes, what should i do?
cheers

I'd get someone who knows what they are doing to take the tyre off and have a look.

Change them for Z3 wheels.

The Z3 was not designed to use run flat tyres, l imagine the ride will be a bit hard with those on.

As above if you are worried about it then get it checked out. As for the Z4 it is only one particular style on the newer E89 Z4 that appears to be having problems and generally it is the 19" wheel that seems to be the worst. I've not heard of any significant problems with the Z3 or E85 Z4.
