BMW Business Code

Post by Buz007 »

Hi There All!

Just refitted my original BMW Business RDS head unit and of course I've lost the code. Does anyone have the software on their laptop which churns out a code if you type in the serial number? Would obviously pay for your trouble

Cheers

Buz

If you are friendly with your dealer, he will do it for free.

You will need the serial number whoever does it. The number is on the radio, so you will need to remove it.

As I said "if you are friendly with" .

My BMW dealer only needed my reg number to give me the stereo code. As it happened, the head unit had been upgraded to business cd, so the code didn't work... I ended up downloading a Blaupunkt code generator for Rover cars of the same era, as they had the same oem head units. Sadly, the laptop died, and the programme with it...
Hope your dealer can sort you out,

Boosh.

Would be interested to know how you get on as I will be doing the same thing.

Can't try it myself as I'm working away from home without the unit and a work laptop. I dare not download something from a site like that on this machine :( So make sure your virus checker is working.

Anything that asks you to download a program and run it on your computer has the potential to be dodgy, as the program can very easily be laden with malware, and anti-virus software might not necessarily pick it up - sites like this that offer stuff for free are prime targets for hosting such nasties, so I would steer well clear. The sites themselves are often honeytraps and so the sites themselves may also be laden with malware that utilises browser flaws to infect your computer. So please, be very careful.

Cheers R.

Hold the 'M' button in for 8 secs and the serial number pops up. Use this online or via the dealership to find the activation code. No need to remove the hu
