A long story but I got some water ingress into the car.
Now the accelerator has no effect; car idles fine but won't rev.
Where would be the best place for me to go fault-finding presuming the car is now dried out?
No throttle response
Re: No throttle response
I’m not positive but is your accelerator controlled by a potentiometer?

Re: No throttle response
Absolutely no idea. How would I tell?
Re: No throttle response
This is the pedal on mine (2001), it could be the potentiometer

It could also be a Throttle Position Switch which is on the top front of the engine.
‘Water ingress’ where ?

Re: No throttle response
Some water got in the boot, also the front wings were stripped off & some electrical connectors exposed when it suddenly rained & I didn't get the cover on quickly enough
Re: No throttle response
Looking at your profile and car, if you still refer to a 2.2i 2002 model then you certainly have a fly-by-wire throttle. On the don't look for zebras principle (when you hear hoofbeats think of horses, not zebras) I would put money on a goosed throttle pedal pot. This RealOEM page shows you where to look http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showpar ... Id=35_0165
Edited to add, sorry Gazza, I have only just followed your link...

Thanks- I'll check out part #11
Re: No throttle response
Get the error codes read, to see if there are any related to the problem.
