I dont mean to piss on your chips sledgehammer.

But the use of leds to light the angel rings is really archaic.

the light output is about 10% of the cold cathode fluorescent lights (ccfl), and as the operating temp is higher, the rings will suffer fading and yellowing over time.

Ive bee dealing with BMW angel eye lighting for almost 4 years now, and have not found anything as effective as the ccfl technology around today.

No problem CD

My rings are noticeable even when the lights are off, because of the fact that they are placed in front of the glass.
Besides that, it gives a more original look IMO, think of the 5/3/7 serie's.

Old topic bumped up for a question:

What's the difference between Chromeline's CCFL kits and these, for example: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-BMW- ... 0033QQrdZ1

I mean, even with the import taxes and all, it would still be way cheaper than the ~170-180 euros that the CD's kit costs.

The light ring diameter is the same on E36's and Z3's, right?

The CCFL based kit I sell is the 6th generation kit.

CCFL technology has been around in BMW headlights for alomst three years now. While the principal behind it remains constant, each new generation has been improved.

For instance, the ones shown in the link are very old Generation 1 CCFLs. These have no reflective backing and will illuminate backwards, causing a spiral effect.

Also the rings will be incased in a thin polycarbonate tube, whereas my generation 6 ones, are encased in a much more robust groved polycarb tube, with highly durable metallised backing. Essential for the tight fit in Z headlights.

Seriously @ £99.95 my generation 6 angels offer the best value to the UK market. My expertise in fitting these is also on a very high level. I am slowy doing more and more of this forum's member's cars, and all have been very pleased with the quality of product and of the fitting.

Cristophe - Have you been emailing me?

Ben.

Mr Tim, much like JAY went for the Full Xenon HID upgrade at the same time.

His dipped beam driving lights now put out 3.5 time the amount of light as his standard halogen bulbs used to.

Tim, your car was a pleasure to work on buddy. Rob the Bruce has just booked in to have his done on the 3rd of March

Anyone else interested in having theirs done?

Ben.

With your photography skills, you really should mate.

just remember to turn the exposure down, so the rings dont appear blurred!!
