He`s having a laugh. There is no way he is selling that without reserve, he will pull the advert off before the end, if it`s his car....

Anyone who's after one should simply contact the seller (sooner rather than later) and simply offer the £7,500 he is after.

Just had a quick look at the e-bay advert and I can see that the two photos are of different cars.

In picture one, it appears to have shadow chrome wheels and headlamp washers, whilst in picture two it has normal silver wheels and no headlamp washers.

I guess it could just be that he/she is using the first picture as an example, but adverts with very few photos or photos that don't tie up, along with a low price always get me suspicious. Or am i just being paranoid?

Something doesn't add up here. It's being advertised under "wheel rims" by a BMW master technician?
The last one to sell on Ebay went for £10,800, and the only other is at £13,995.
Very poor pictures too.

I spoke with the seller on the phone for about 20mins on Friday and he was a very nice chap. I think he's just not very good with the tinterweb.

He sent me a picture of the car (which is currently in a lock-up which he is having to give up, alongside two motorbikes, and it is the ///M that he has chosen to sell). He also sent me the VIN and numberplate, and all matched up.

Unfortunately, as some of you noticed, he is in Scotland and I am in Brighton. So if the ad has been pulled because it has already been sold (I am 99% certain it is genuine), I'm very sad that I couldn't organise the funds for it sooner! :(

It had six bids on it when I looked on Friday. It was up to £1200.

It would be worth contacting him again to see if it's still for sale. I suspect he has found out it's real value and will be doing it properly next time.

I suspect that he works in either Crossflags Dumfries (01387 253473) or Lloyd Carlisle (01228 542222).

Pretty much, but I had a few other things to arrange before committing too, so chances I would've missed out anyway.
I also wasn't convinced about the rust-free condition he claimed it to be in, given that all the other Z3s I've seen from Scotland have suffered fairly heavily (including Scarlett).

I have an element of 'M-styling' on my car, If that's a good enough reason for the manufacturers to adorn a 320 with the M badge, then its certainly a good enough reason for me..

It's supply and demand. He just didn't demand very much. Who knows if it would have sold for £10k+? We'll never know. Or maybe we will  .

Yep classic case of selling too cheap / not aware of current market value. I'm not saying it's worth £20k but in this market I'm pretty sure he would have sold it quickly for more, someone got a bargain and could probably sell it for a decent margin tomorrow with a decent advert.

Classic sign of a fast rising market, there will always be sellers who don't keep pace for a time.

It says it all when people thought it was a scam because it was too cheap at £7500, crap advert and it sold in days

If anything this sale confirms they are worth more, not less

Far too cheap at 7.5k, that's why it sold so fast,

He missed a trick there.

That's quite right, the winters here mean a lot of abrasive grit is used on the roads. The brakes, wheel bearings and suspension along with bodywork get a terrible hammering.
I don't use my Z3 at all from the moment the first frost hits till the grit has gone off the roads in April, sometimes May.
My last 4 wheel drive had three lots of brake pads, wheel bearings all round more than once, various suspension parts and inner wheel arches getting a bit iffy, all in 6 years and 45000 miles.
I'm not a bad driver and never ever wore out a set of pads or bearings when I lived further south.
Lots of folk I know won't buy a Scottish registered car over three years old and prefer to buy from "down south".
I'm not knocking the Highlands as I love living here, just don't buy a car that's spent a few winters in these parts.
