Thank god for that, I was worried you were going to put them on with them only being 'really shiny'.shantybeater wrote:Will be giving them a second going over before they go on the car.

Thanks for the comments, I will get some vids up before and after for comparison. since its the 'sport' rather than the 'race' system I imagine the difference will not be huge?
Not sure of the tip size Jon but as far as i'm aware no cutting was involved for 'flames247' (the member i bought it off)
Gaz -always room for improvement!! OCD maybe? a few spots I want to go over like the welds around the tips which require alot of elbow grease to shine up!

Ok so they are fitted!! extremely happy with the look AND sound. I love the shiny stainless back boxes

I have to say at low revs there is very little difference, no boom at all on the motorway etc but further up the rev range it transforms to a much more exotic noise!
A few vids to follow...

Yeah very true, I went for the brushed finish first time round and loved it, chose the titanium to match the s54 shadow Chrome rims (even though I no longer have them! Lol )

Cheers Daz, alot more on my to do list but due to flat purchase and no furniture (AT ALL!) mods will be taking a back seat for a while.

Bit late to reply but thanks Badman yours isnt too shabby either!
A little while since i've updated this. I've had a few technical difficulties with photobucket so have attempted to repair the broken links.
Well where to start, the car has a new home now, safe and sound at night (and possibly hibernating for winter - i might be joining the summer only owners):
I've expanded my cleaning products!, this is the core stuff, there is more hanging up in bags:
The car passed its MOT with no advisories on friday which was good
She has also had a front end respray (bonnet/bumper). While at it I had the drivers side door done and wings blended thanks to a dent appearing in the door which was unrepairable via paintless methods).
Its lovely to see an unmolested front end, compared with my bro's s50 it has always looked quite stone chipped. I'm hesitant to refit the AC flippers while the paint is clean..whats everyones thoughts? better with or without?
The weekend before last I attacked the car with clay using dodo juice's best of bling, then AG SRP and I switched to Collinite 476s for a finish. So far i'm very impressed especially considering its price! I'll report back on durability, it says on the tin it protects for at least 12months which i thought was pretty impressive
We've also upgraded to a decent SLR, we chose the Canon 550D which seems to be arguably the best entry level camera. I travelled up to Somerset to say goodbye to my bro who is emigrating to Thailand for the year, gave him a hand tucking up his M and prepping it for a year of sleep. Whilst there I tried out the new camera, these were my best efforts of the weekend:
Final shot before the car was put away:
Messing with settings/angles
Spot anything new? Storm cig lighter blank has finally turned up!:
Any comments welcome and tips on the shots as well!!

Looking great Shanty
Received my Storm Lighter blank a while a go and looks far better than the standard lighter item.
I'd fit the splitters back on as it looks nice and agressive with them on.
Regarding garaging over winter, well mine has been delayed a week and so glad I did and this past week has been great for Zedding but now its gone into storage this weekend, the weather is going downhill now
If you have the use of another car over the winter then I'd much prefer hibernating the Zed, I just dont see the point in taking it out in rubbish weather with the snow, ice, salt etc, it will take its toll on the car unless you weekely wash and protect it i.e. waxoyl or Dinitrol the underside so you may as well keep it in the dry and look forward to the next spring. I tend to tire of cars quite easily and if I had been using the Zed over the last couple of winters I'm unsure I would still have it.
Tim.

Shanty, It looks fantastic,
Im not hiding mine away though, id miss it too much,
Hows the new home?
Your cleaning products cupboard resembles mine.
I have been looking at M6's recently, id love the bmw 5.0 v10
Anyone on here driven one ? or the v10 m5?.
If so id love to know how they drive and how quick they feel.
Many thanks
mark

Re the pics I would play around with depth of field ie lower aperture settings. It helps if you have a fast lens F2 or lower but prices go up exponentially for those and you can get some decent results with a stock lens on a bright day with a tripod to get the aperture as low as possible. You can use photoshop to fake DOF but better to get it from the lens
My front end really needs a freshen up but I'm putting it off as I don't want to get paranoid about stone chips but will have to get it done at some point.

Titantim - Cheers Tim, i am swaying towards putting them back on. As for putting it away for winter i am still undecided, i'm considering a bike license to get me to work and back on a daily basis, its costing a fortune to sit in traffic everyday and i'd rather take it out and enjoy it on the weekend Plus it will mean i can take it off road when i like to carry out work to it...I know what you mean about getting bored as well, i do the same!! part of me would love to tuck her up over winter but the other part would miss driving it so much!! a difficult choice but it definately wont be my daily drive anymore
Badman - Good choice, M6's are probably the biggest bargain available on the second hand market, i'd just be frightened of the servicing costs with a v10 if you get one though please take me for a spin!!
The new home is great, i cant believe how expensive furniture is though!!
Jon - I'll give that a try, i was messing with exposure times and allowing the camera to chose apperture sizes, still very new to SLR's!
Daz - nice try! i think they will be going back on but if not i'll let you have first refusal, cant say fairer than that!

Lol, brings back memories of my first home, believe me though its the people you share it with that make the memories and not the things that are in it (make sure you get a badass AV system though or your mates will not forgive you you will soon learn the crucial skill of playing off a nest of tables against that amp you have to have lol)shantybeater wrote:......

Re the SLR, being able to control depth of field is the biggest advantage of an SLR over a compact so if your knew to them thats the bit thats worth researching / playing around with first.
