Any pictures of Z3 fitted with 19's?

Post by M@r]{ »

Now really I should be looking for 18's at the most, 17's ideally (car will be used for drifting and road) But I have a set of CSL reps and a set of BBS LM reps in M3 fitment at home. I also run 19's on the M3 so when the tyres get low I take them off and put them aside to use for drifting on the Z3 - its like hand me downs :D

But..... I'm worried it may look a bit rediculous? Not to mention fitment problems. Based on opinions on here I think I'll need spacers at the front, not a problem, but the back will stick out about 20mm. I'm hoping with some arch rolling/flaring and some agressive camber I can get the top of the tyre tucking in nicely. Certainly for drifting I won't run any wider than 235, more likely a 225. But on the road probably a 255 so on these 9.5j wheels they will stretch a bit.

So, anyone got any pictures of Z3's fitted with 19's? Even better if they are CSL style or BBS LM style :)

It's a no brainer for me,IMO the standard rears suit the "M" perfectly but the fronts do not do the car justice. I have fitted 19" to all my previous cars and have always thought they improved the general look and stance of the car.We are all different and as such what suits one person may not suit another. What really matters is what YOU think

Nice, but I meant more this sort of angle

By the way what size, offset etc have you got with those wheels? I've got x2 sets of 19's at home, both M3 fitment I believe (well one is for sure, the other set might just be 3 series offsets)

I tried these on:

Z3 2.8 Progress Journal (Mine)
Z3 1.9 Sport Progress Journal (Wifey's)

I have an element of 'M-styling' on my car, If that's a good enough reason for the manufacturers to adorn a 320 with the M badge, then its certainly a good enough reason for me..

Have you been feeding the car with that can of diet coke? It seems to have lost its roll hoops ;-)

I like the look of 19s, probably won't be able to lower the car though with stretching the tyres

They look lovely!!

Shouldn't make much difference regarding the ability to lower as the overall diameter including the tyre should remain the same, ie you're substituting tyre profile for rim diameter :)

How well does the Zed drive with 19's ?

I've heard that the E46 with 19's isn't a nice drive compared to 18's

I went from 18 to 19's on the Z4MC, didn't notice much difference. However as you're reducing the tyre profile it makes sense that the ride would be a little more harsh but you should experience less roll in the corners. So I suppose it depends on what you're after as to whether that's a negative or not?

Also went through the same dilema when looking at changing rims.....and went the 19 route in the end. For me the ride is still OK and not harsh at all, and we live where every 100 yards is a speed bump :(

However the look of the car now is so more appealing with the lines and the deep dish of the alloys....see signature :)
